Spokeo has been featured on CNN, Fox News, CBS, and other noteworthy news channels. Many of you already know what Spokeo is, and how to use it. If you’re still not sure, and you’re asking yourself, “What the heck is Spokeo?” than this article is for you.
Spokeo is an online white pages listing coupled with a data base of public records. If you’re looking for an old friend, or maybe even wanting to inquire as to whether that person you met online has a criminal history, Spokeo can help. All you have to do is go to www.spokeo.com and enter the first and last name of the person you are searching for.
Spokeo will return a list of matches from all across the country. You can then narrow those results down by choosing a state, and then a city. You should enter the location where you either believe the person to reside, or alternately, the last place you knew them to reside at. Spokeo will continue to narrow the results down for you all the way to the street level.
Once Spokeo finds the person you’re searching for, they will let you know what information they can provide about the person you’re searching for, including:
- Profile details (full name, telephone number, email address, age)
- Location history (current and previous home addresses with current values)
- Family background (family members, relatives, spouse info)
- Photos and social profiles (photos, videos, and social network profiles)
- Neighborhood (neighbors, nearby home values, public safety)
A green button will also appear that says, “get full results”. When you click this button, you’ll be taken to the Spokeo membership sign-up page. The search is completely confidential, and the people you conduct searches for (whether you purchase or not) will not be notified of your search.
Spokeo offers two membership plans to choose from:
- 6 month membership for $23.70 billed every 6 months
- 3 month membership for $14.85 billed every 3 months
Once you choose a plan, you’ll be prompted to enter your payment information. You must next agree to the Spokeo terms and conditions, before finally clicking “purchase and see results.” You must agree that you will not use any of the information “to determine an individual’s eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, or any other purpose covered under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.”
Your satisfaction is guaranteed, and they offer a full refund if you’re not satisfied. I’ve used Spokeo to locate an old high-school flame. While I can’t say I was satisfied, it was for my own personal reasons. (He’s been married for 20 years to the same woman!), I may not have gotten the answer I hoped for, but Spokeo delivered what they promised.
