The company, which became popular in the 1960s for its automotive parts catalogs that people loved, has grown and now has almost 500 stores nationwide. The company has grown in leaps and bounds since it was established and now Canadian Tire is proud to offer a number of different credit options for customers wishing to get a credit card from the company. If you are interested in getting and activating one of these cards, read on for details.
Sign Up for Canadian Tire Credit First
To use this system, you must already have a Canadian Tire credit card. If you do not have one, head to the Canadian Tire Financial Services website at www.ctfs.com and sign up for one of the three great deals you can get with a Canadian Tire MasterCard.
Activate Your Canadian Tire Credit Card
To activate your card, you will need to have the card with you and the card number ready to be entered into the form. You will also need the security number, which is the three-digit code on the back of your card.
Let’s begin the process of activating your card—it is quick and easy. Go to www.ctfs.com/activate. There you will see a form that shows you the next three steps to activate your card.
1) Enter your card number and the three-digit security code, found on the rear side of the card under the barcode.
2) On the next screen you will need to verify your identity. This will include entering your full name, address details, phone number, and social security number.
3) The third page requires you to enter a PIN number for you new card. Make this a unique number that will be hard to guess; a PIN number such as 1234 is too obvious and people may be able to access your credit if you lose your card. Submit your activation form.
That’s it, you have activated your Canadian Tire credit card and it is now ready for use in Canadian Tire stores or wherever MasterCard is accepted.
